Question

Can I use a Squaremetry floor plan for an appraisal or a listing?

Yes. The floor plans and reports you export are yours to use in a listing, a brochure or an appraisal. Squaremetry follows ANSI Z765 and shows the rule behind every number, but it does not certify a measurement: the person who measures and signs is responsible.

In short: Can I use a Squaremetry floor plan for an appraisal or a listing?

  • Your exports are yours to use
  • ANSI Z765 mode for the gross living area
  • The UAD 3.6 table for appraisers
  • No certification: you measure and sign

For a listing

Export the plan as PNG or PDF and add it to the listing. Many listing services show finished below-grade area on its own line, so check yours.

For an appraisal

Appraisers copy the UAD 3.6 table and export a sketch with every dimension and the GLA calculation shown.

Does Squaremetry certify the measurement?

No. Squaremetry follows the standard in its own words and shows the rule behind every number. You measure, you decide and you sign.

Does a basement count as square footage?

Not in the gross living area under ANSI Z765. A level that is partly below grade counts as below grade, even when it is finished. Its area is reported on its own line.
