The short version
- Free: drawing, every area and your first home for 30 days. Then $5 per home, Pro from $24 a month, or Team for $69 a month for 5 people.
- Payments are final: no refunds, except the money back on your first payment, where the law gives consumers a right to one, or when we end the service.
- Your plans are yours; you can export or delete them.
- Free for non-commercial education, on request with a school email address.
- Squaremetry is a drawing aid: our results are calculations from your measurements, not an official measurement or appraisal. You check them yourself.
- Dutch law applies. Consumers keep all their rights.

2. What is free
Drawing, every measurement and 3D are free, and your first home is free for 30 days, once per account, without a card. Everyone gets the same rules and the same prices. DXF, your logo and the house style are part of Pro and Team.
If we offer a trial, it is for new accounts: 14 days for at most 5 homes, with a "Trial" mark on exports. Features may change, and we may fix things in ways that change how a plan looks. We never charge you without your clear consent.
3. Your account
You sign in with a one-time code or link sent to your email, with a passkey, or, once we offer it, with Google, Apple or Microsoft. Keep access to your email safe: whoever can read it can sign in. You must be at least 16. One account is for one person; share work through teams or share links, not by sharing an account.
You can also use the editor without an account. Your plan then stays in your browser, and clearing your browser data removes it.
4. Prices and payment
Free, without paying: drawing, every measurement, the m² under the norm and 3D. Without an unlocked home, an export is a small PNG of 800 × 450 pixels with a watermark. PDF, SVG, DXF, FML, IFC, HD and 4K and the measurement report come with an unlocked home, Pro or Team. Your first home is free: one home unlocked for 30 days, once per account, no card needed. The measurement report is not included. To export in full you choose: $5 per home (that home stays unlocked for 30 days), or a home with the measurement report for $7.50 (the same 30 days, plus the professional measurement report and the FML file; for a home you already unlocked you pay the difference, $2.50), or Pro for $24 a month or $179 a year. For 5 people there is Team, for $69 a month or $399 a year (€ 69 a month or € 399 a year when you pay in euros). An extra person in Team costs $12 a month or $69 a year, up to 20 people. Pro includes 15 new homes a month, Team 75 plus 15 per extra person; a home counts once, in the month it is first exported without the mark, and one more home above that costs $4, and 5 more in one go cost $15. Unused homes do not carry over to the next month: the count starts again on the 1st of every calendar month. 5 more homes count only in the month you buy them. The amounts here are the US dollar prices.
The currency follows the country you buy from, not the language of the site: pounds in the United Kingdom, Australian dollars in Australia, New Zealand dollars in New Zealand, Canadian dollars in Canada, euros in the euro area and the rest of the EU, and US dollars elsewhere. You cannot pick another currency. Each currency has its own fixed price, which we review once a year; there is no daily exchange rate (Pro per month, for example, is £24, CA$32 plus tax, A$36, NZ$40). In the United Kingdom, the EU, Australia and New Zealand the price includes VAT or GST. In the United States and Canada sales tax, GST or HST is added at checkout where it applies. Paddle charges in that currency, and you see the full price before you pay.
Payments are handled by Paddle as our reseller (merchant of record). Paddle is the seller of the purchase, and its buyer terms apply to the payment. Pro and Team renew automatically for the same period (a month or a year) until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, in a few clicks from Settings, or without signing in on the page "Cancel your subscription here" (at the bottom of every page of our website), and keep Pro or Team until the end of the period you paid for. You get a confirmation on screen and by email right away.
For consumers, a yearly Pro or Team that has renewed after its first year can be ended at any time with one month’s notice. You then get back the part of that year after the notice period.
5. Free use for education
Students, teachers and schools can use the Pro features free of charge for non-commercial education. You ask for it with your school email address. We check each request by hand and may say no.
The free access lasts one year. After that we check again. Every export made with it carries an "Educational use" mark.
The free access is only for teaching, studying and research without a commercial purpose. If you use it for paid or commercial work, we may end it.
6. Invite someone: a month of Pro for you both
With your personal invitation link (Settings, Plan and billing) you can invite someone. If that person makes a new account through the link and pays for Pro, Team or a home, you both get one month of Pro, 14 days after that first payment. Without a running subscription that is Pro for one month in your own workspace. With a running subscription it is a discount of one month of Pro on your next bill. It is never money, credit or a balance, and you cannot exchange it.
There is no month if that payment is withdrawn, refunded or charged back. Inviting yourself does not count: not with a second account, another e-mail address of yours, the same device or the same means of payment. You get at most 12 months in any 12 months. We may refuse or take back a month that came from misuse, and we may change or end the programme; months already given stay.
The link holds a random code, not your name or e-mail address. You see numbers only, never who came through your link.
7. No refunds
Apart from the money back on your first payment, payments are final. We do not give refunds, also not when you cancel, stop using Squaremetry or use fewer homes than you paid for. Business customers get no other refund, except when we end the service or their account while they keep to these terms (see Ending). For consumers, the law comes first:
Money back on your first payment: within 14 days of your first payment to Squaremetry, you can ask for all of it back, without giving a reason, as a consumer or as a business. This is once per account and per email address. The home is locked again, or Pro or Team ends, on the day the money goes back. This comes on top of the right of withdrawal: a withdrawal pays back the days you did not use, this promise pays back everything.
Found a mistake in how Squaremetry applies a measuring rule? Report it. We look into it, and if it is our fault, you get that home back and we fix the rule. In Pro or Team, that home then no longer counts for the homes of the month; for a home you bought on its own, we pay that home back. This is about how Squaremetry applies a measuring rule, not about what you draw or measure yourself.
- the right of withdrawal below;
- your legal rights if Squaremetry does not work as agreed, such as repair, a lower price or ending the contract;
- the cases in these terms where you get back part of a paid period: a renewed yearly Pro or Team that you end, a change of these terms you do not accept, and the end of the service by us.
Paddle sells to you and its buyer terms apply to the purchase. If those terms give you a refund, you get it from Paddle; these terms cannot take that away.
If you are a consumer in Australia, our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including a refund or another remedy for a major failure. Nothing in these terms limits those rights, or other consumer rights that the law of your country does not let us exclude (for example in the United Kingdom or New Zealand).
All refund rules in one place, with how to ask for a refund and how long it takes: Refund policy.
8. Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU and UK)
As a consumer you have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase, without giving a reason. At checkout we ask whether you want to start at once:
- Unlocking a home: if you ask for the unlock to start at once and withdraw within 14 days, you pay for the days up to your withdrawal, out of the 30 days the home is unlocked, and get the rest back. The home is then locked again. We confirm your request by email.
- Pro and Team: if you ask for the subscription to start at once and withdraw within 14 days, you pay for the days up to your withdrawal and get the rest back. We confirm your request by email.
- This request is a separate box at checkout that is never ticked in advance; without it the checkout does not continue. If we have no record of your request, you can withdraw within 14 days and get your full payment back.
To withdraw, use the Withdraw button in your account under Settings › Subscription within the 14 days, or email us at info@squaremetry.com. The 14 days end at 23:59 on the 14th calendar day after the day you bought, Netherlands time; your account shows that last day. We confirm by email that we received it. If you buy for your business, you say so at checkout and give the company name; business customers have no right of withdrawal.
9. Your plans and data
You own your plans, drawings and exports. You give us permission to store, process and show them only to run Squaremetry for you and the people you share them with. We never sell them. See the privacy policy for details.
When Pro, Team or free education access ends, we delete nothing. Your homes stay in your account: you can open and view them, and export a small image of them with a watermark. The last paid version of each home stays downloadable without the mark, in the formats you paid for then, for as long as your account exists; this also applies after the 30 days of a single home. A version you changed afterwards needs a new right. If you withdraw and get your money back, the version of that purchase no longer counts as paid. Paid features, such as the logo, the house style, templates and library of a team, are kept but read-only until you take a plan again. You can download or delete everything at any time.
A share link lets anyone with the link view the plan; an edit link lets them change it. You choose how long a link works and can turn it off at any time. Only share links with people you trust.
Only upload what you have the right to use, such as your own photos or plans you may copy.
10. Fair use
- Do not break the law, harm others or upload harmful files with Squaremetry.
- Do not try to get into accounts or data that are not yours, or overload the service.
- Do not copy, scrape or resell the service, or use automated tools on it, without our written permission.
If you break these rules, we may suspend or close your account. We tell you why, unless the law does not allow it.
11. Our design and software
The look of Squaremetry is ours and protected: the app and the website, the drawing style, the icons and illustrations, the texts and the software. You may not copy, scrape or rebuild them, or use them in another product. Your plans and exports stay yours: use, share and sell them as you like.
12. Results: you check them yourself
Squaremetry is a drawing aid. It calculates with the measurements and data you enter or choose, following our reading of the measuring standard you choose. It is not an on-site measurement, not an inspection, not an appraisal and not an installation design.
You check every result yourself before you rely on it or give it to someone else. This applies to:
- measurements, areas, volumes and the measurement report;
- the loss areas and the Ag: the energy assessor stays responsible for the survey and the registration;
- quantities, material lists and quotes;
- installation sheets: a drawing aid, not an installation design;
- sample plans;
- AI proposals: a proposal, not a measurement;
- data from open sources, such as the home, the neighboring buildings and the aerial photo when you start from your address. They can be out of date or incomplete.
A result from Squaremetry is not an official or certified measurement, not a measurement report by a qualified surveyor on site, and not an appraisal or valuation. Squaremetry holds no quality mark for measuring. If a buyer, lender, landlord or authority needs such a measurement, hire a qualified professional.
13. Availability and liability
We work hard to keep Squaremetry available and your plans safe, but we cannot promise that it always works without errors. Apart from the rights you have by law, we provide Squaremetry as it is. Keep your own copy of important plans; you can export them at any time.
You check every result yourself (see above). Damage because you did not, or because of errors in measurements or data that you or someone else entered or that come from open sources, is at your own expense.
If you are a consumer, our liability for other damage is limited to the higher of these two amounts: $100 (€ 100 if you pay in euros), or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the damage. If you use Squaremetry for your business, the limits in the next section apply.
These limits do not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, to death or personal injury, or where the law does not allow them. As a consumer you keep all rights the law gives you.
14. Using Squaremetry for your business
If you use Squaremetry for your trade or profession, for example as a real estate agent or a surveyor, these extra rules apply:
- There is no right of withdrawal and there are no refunds, except when we end the service or your account while you keep to these terms (see Ending).
- The data processing agreement is part of these terms and applies to the personal data of your clients that you put in Squaremetry.
- You make sure you may share the data you upload, and you tell your clients how you use Squaremetry.
- If you give a result from Squaremetry to your client or anyone else, such as a plan, a measurement report, a sheet of loss areas or a quote, you stay responsible to them. You check the result yourself first.
- You indemnify us against claims from your clients and others that arise from your use of Squaremetry, unless the damage is caused by our intent or gross negligence.
- We are not liable to you for indirect or consequential damage, such as lost profit, revenue or assignments, a lower sale price, a fine or a claim from your client, or the cost of measuring again.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the damage. If you use Squaremetry for free, we are not liable to you. These limits do not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence.
- Your own general terms do not apply to our agreement.
15. Ending
You can stop at any time: cancel Pro or Team in a few clicks from Settings or without signing in on the page "Cancel your subscription here" at the bottom of every page, or delete your account. We may end the service or your account with 30 days’ notice, and at once if you seriously break these terms. When we end the service or your account without you breaking these terms, you get time to export your plans, and you get back the part of a prepaid period you can no longer use. This applies to consumers and to business customers.
16. Changes to these terms
We announce changes at least 30 days ahead by email and in the changelog. If you do not agree, you can stop before the change takes effect. If you are a consumer and the change is to your disadvantage, you then get back the part of a paid period you can no longer use.
17. Complaints, law and disputes
Tell us first at info@squaremetry.com; we answer within 5 working days and look for a solution together. Dutch law applies, and disputes go to the court in Gelderland (Arnhem), the Netherlands, unless the law says otherwise. As a consumer you can also go to the court where you live, and you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country.
