About switching from another tool. Can’t find your answer? Send us a message.
info@squaremetry.comCan I import my old plan?
Not directly. Export the plan as an image or PDF and trace it in Squaremetry. The areas follow as soon as the rooms are traced.
What does Squaremetry cost?
Drawing is free, and your first home is free for 30 days. After that you pay $5 per home or take Pro from $24 a month.
Does Squaremetry do 3D?
Yes. Every plan opens in 3D from the same walls, rooms, doors and windows: look from above, cut a section or walk through at eye level. The areas always come from the 2D plan.
Can I make a floor plan for Funda?
Yes. Export the plan as PNG or PDF and give it to your agent, who adds it to the listing. Our Dutch guide explains what Funda asks for.
Why can my area differ from before?
Squaremetry measures by a standard. Under ANSI Z765 the area is measured from the outside walls and only finished space above grade counts; basements and garages get their own lines. A tool that only adds up the rooms gives a different number.
Can someone check the plan with me?
Yes. Share a link that only lets people look, or invite them to your team so they can open the home too.
Do I need an account?
No. You can draw and see every area without one; your plan stays in this browser. Sign in when you want to keep a home in your account or share it.
Can I export my floor plan?
Yes, as PNG, SVG or a PDF to scale, and as a square footage report with the rooms and the rule behind each number. Free is a small PNG with a watermark; the full files come with an unlocked home or Pro, and your first home is free.
Does a garage count as square footage?
Not in the gross living area. A garage is not finished living space, so ANSI Z765 reports it separately, like a porch or a deck.
Can I measure in square meters?
Yes. Switch the units to meters and every length and area follows. Type 4.2 x 3.5 or 420 x 350 cm.
