Square feet to square meters: in short
To convert square feet to square meters, multiply by 0.092903. One square foot is exactly 0.09290304 m², so 100 sq ft is 9.29 m² and 1,000 sq ft is 92.90 m².
The formula
Square meters = square feet × 0.09290304. The number is exact: a foot is 0.3048 m by definition, and 0.3048 × 0.3048 = 0.09290304.
The other way: square feet = square meters × 10.7639. In your head, divide square feet by 10 and take off 7% for a close estimate.

Add up the rooms in square feet and convert the total once. Converting each room, rounding it and then adding the rounded numbers can put the total off by a few tenths of a square meter.
